Some of our more gentle chemical peels you may not experience any physical skin shedding at all. Those are best done in a series, four to six weeks apart. This is also a great way to start with your first ever chemical peel experience and prep for a Mid-Depth Peel.
DAY OF Treatment- Glowing with some slight inflammation. We prefer not to top your skin with anything after the peel. The last step of the peel layers self-neutralizes, meaning it will stay on your skin for up to 12 hours. Avoid any sun exposure the rest of the day. You may go out to dinner or be social, however you will have a glowing appearance! Eye and Lip Makeup is allowed if you would like. We prefer you not to wear tight hats either... That traps heat and we already told you details about heat and peels during your treatment.
DAY TWO- Skin usually looks tight and glowing! Go run errands everywhere (with approved SPF on of course, ask about our tinted SPF.) When you get that compliment from friends or strangers tell them you went to SKINRX! Sensative skin may feel tight and a very slight sunburn feeling. Ask us about the cooling hydration spray we have!
DAY THREE- You may notice some areas darkening, sun spots turning much darker, that's great news! Don't be afraid if that happens. The peeling will usually begin today or tomorrow on the expression areas ( mouth, cheeks, between brows...) Don't forget to follow post-peel protocol and please, NO PICKING.
DAY FOUR-The peeling will continue or just now start for some at this time. Usually, the peeling will happen in other areas: forehead, jawline, etc... Remember, NO picking. We love telling you that...
Peeling on hands, forearms, legs and décolletage(chest) may take longer to start!
DAY FIVE THROUGH SEVEN- Let the peeling continue... while some have done the majority of their peeling and just now light flaking, everyone is different! Rarely, some will get a second wave of peeling/shedding for a day or two.
DAY EIGHT THROUGH TEN: You may still feel more dry than usual and your skin is thirsty for hydration (internally and externally.) Call SKINRX to book a hydrating rapidly radiant calming facial. This is a 30 minute boost of gentle exfoliation to help slough the rest away carefully and infuse hydrating serums.
DAY EIGHT THROUGH FOURTEEN : If you didn't come in for that hydrating mini-facial then contact your SRX expert to give you advice on the BEST skincare to optimize your final chemical peel results!
DAY FOURTEEN THROUGH TWENTY: You are just now seeing the results! Contact your SRX provider to see your BEFORE/AFTER comparison! You should notice healthier looking skin!
